All RYS-200 programs involve 200 hour of study time and encompass the same competencies as defined by Yoga Alliance, which means the program must focus a predetermined number of hours devoted to anatomy, philosophy, alignment and posture focus, methodology, history etc. For students who live locally, Heartwood offers RYS-200 yoga teacher training programs that break up the course of studies over a longer stretch of time than an immersion or intensive, allowing students to balance the commitment of yoga training with other life responsibilities. Students can continue working, caring for families, and enjoy the process as savored "me time" with each meeting, bringing them closer to their interests and personal dreams. Local YTT programs do not include meals or lodging, so can be a very affordable path to getting yoga certified, and for those who like processing information in smaller bites, where they can practice, journal, and contemplate the teachings between lessons, this format offers a slow and steady learning dynamic.
Heartwood offers two special YTT programs designed for local students to make Yoga Certification possible even for the busiest individual, a daytime program that meets once a week for 6.5 hours (plus elective weekend), and a weekend program that meets for 10 consecutive weekends each summer or every other weekend in the winter session.
Due to special provisions allowable in response to Covid, Heartwood also offers an online 200 certification as well.
Since local students no doubt live a drive-able distance, making it possible attend a program that is not a residency, potential students are invited to set up an appointment to tour Heartwood and meet with the director to learn about the program and discuss their personal goals. Our hope is that a bit of research upfront will help you make a good decision about whether or not Heartwood is the best place for you at this stage of your yoga path.
Every other weekend: Jan. 14-May 7th, 2023
Heartwood offers a weekend yoga teacher training program that meets every weekend in the summer session or every other weekend in the winter session. Students will meet Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 am - 6:30 pm for 10 YTT weekends to gain their yoga certification. A small portion of the training (anatomy and history of yoga) is online as per Yoga Alliance new standards). Students take Aerial yoga certification on the final weekend but have the option to take Chair yoga certification instead at a different time if interested.
(No class is scheduled on July 2-3 in respect to the holiday weekend in the summer session.)
Students bring lunch each day.
Course Fee: 2,800.00
Jan. 12 - May 25, 2023
This course is perfect for anyone who longs to study yoga in depth yet has conflicts with devoting long weekends to the process. This YTT course meets every Thursday from 8:30 am - 3:00 pm for 20 weeks, making this format a perfect fit for parents who want to study while their children are in school, or for anyone who finds it easier to devote one day a week (in shorter sessions) to yoga teacher training rather than longer weekend sessions. Students also meet for one elective weekend and can chose between Chair yoga or Aerial Yoga Certification. Students also have an online anatomy course that they can take at their leisure to complete all the requirements for Yoga Alliance. Students bring lunch each day.
Course Fee - 2,800.00
Oct. 18 2022 - March 8, 2023
This yoga teacher training course meets each Tuesday from 8:30-3:00 for 20 YTT sessions. The weekly meeting helps everyone keep their practice progressing and makes it easy to digest the material. We also meet one weekend for Chair Yoga Certification (several options available).
We do not meet on Tuesday, Nov. 23 or Dec. 21 or 289 for holiday breaks.
Since there is no food plan with this training, students bring their own lunch each day.
Course Fee: 2,600.00 (This reflects an AARP discount)
