We appreciate that so many students travel to join us for programs. It is important to know that Heartwood is not a large retreat facility featuring multiple programs at once or corporate sized events. We are an intimate facility focused on training one small group at a time, and while our property is inspirational and offers many great areas to enhance your educational experience, we are limited in regards to housing options. We have two current options for accommodations with us and will provide information here about alternate housing arrangements nearby so everyone joining us from out of town can find a situation that works for them.
Heartwood Housing is only available for certification programs that are one week or longer (with the exception of a few weekend events where housing may be included). For short programs or for visitors that are not enrolled in a longer term formal certification program, please see our nearby hotels or local Air B & B's. Students must book for the full duration of the program to reserve a room or bed in either our dorms or the Heartwood House.
Once you have chosen your accommodations we turn others away that would like to stay with us. Therefore, we cannot cancel or change your reservation without a minimum of 4 weeks notice. Our housing is available on a first come first serve basis. If you are attending your training with a friend and would like to house together, it is important for you to make those arrangements ahead of time, prior to booking your housing arrangements.
All Heartwood housing is considered an extension of the institute and therefore subject to our property rules and guidelines which include no smoking, alcohol, excessive noise or activity. We strive to keep the atmosphere quiet, reflective and designed to enhance the yoga experience as per classic yoga experiences. Heartwood programs are not classified as a "retreats to relax and have fun" but are better described as "educational programs designed to inspire and expand the mind and soul." In most cases, students will spend the bulk of their time in the educational program, and when they are released, spend their time studying, processing, recharging and resting for the next day's material. Those wishing to listen to music would want to bring headphones and phone conversations should be held outside of shared sleeping spaces, with respect to allowing everyone their private energetic space. We feel it is important to design housing situations that invite students to retreat within - an important factor in authentic yoga studies.
Breakfast is continental self serve in either location as many students do not wish to eat early before a practice and will partake morning nourishment during a break after physical yoga. Those staying at Heartwood House will have options in the house kitchen, or options are available at the Heartwood facility. Lunch and Dinner is served on schedule at Heartwood during our program hours. All food is vegetarian with vegan & gluten free options. We serve some wonderful meals and always have snacks at the ready (and a bit of chocolate and coffee for those needing an afternoon boost to stay focused) so no worries about going hungry or not feeling nurtured in regard to meals. We know that feeding you well is a part of keeping your energy (and your mood) up.
Once you have chosen your accommodations we will not refund or change your reservation. If you are attending your training with a friend and would like to be together it is important for you to make those arrangements ahead of time, prior to booking your room.
Dorms: Dorms are only available to those staying for a week long program or longer. Dorms are on-site. We have one dorm that houses 5 people to a spacious room with a shared bathroom. The fee is 25.00 per night, plus tax.
The dorm features two stable bunk beds with full size beds, each with a light for reading. The room also has one twin. When staying in the dorms, students have access to the yoga center, studio kitchen, library and grounds, providing students with spaces to study, interact with each other, make a private phone call, or to just "be". This means the dorm is mostly just for sleeping. We ask students to keep the room quiet so others can rest or study without disruption.
In the dorms each student is assigned a bed with sheets, blankets and pillows as well as towels and washcloths for their visit. Students have access to laundry facilities and snacks are available in the yoga center.
To avoid potential discomfort or concerns, our dorms are not co-ed. Males who enroll in our programs have alternate accommodations. Please call us to learn more.

Heartwood plans to expand housing options onsite in 2023 but for now, one of our current housing options is the Heartwood House, a beautiful home 5 miles from the center (12 minute drive by car) . A van will drop off and pick up students from this location daily and bring them to the center for the program, returning them at the end of the day.
This house offers private single rooms and double rooms - all with shared bathrooms. The double bedrooms feature full size beds with canopies with drapes for sleeping privacy, and the two single rooms feature a queen bed. All linens, towels and other necessities are provided. The rooms are spacious, luxurious and comfortable. One master bedroom is available with a private bath. (This is the only housing option Heartwood offers that includes a private bath with the exception of some RV private lodging for males).
The Heartwood house provides opportunity to process and relax at the end of a day with a kitchen and living room, a lovely saltwater pool, a sauna, a whirlpool, laundry facilities, a practice loft outfitted with mats and props, and an outdoor kitchen & living space for relaxing. There is a TV in the living room for those wanting to catch up on worldly events, but plenty of space for quiet too. The house is beautifully decorated in zen fashion, and will be stocked with fresh fruit and snacks, juice, cereal, and basics for breakfast and snacks. Students are welcome to shop and bring in any food to the kitchen they wish to make them comfortable during their stay. The house is available for up to 7 students, all from the program in session, so you will have a close acquaintance with everyone staying on site. Parking is limited with only two cars permitted at this location, so take note that in cases where more attendees have chosen to drive, you may need to access your car from Heartwood (where you will be everyday).
Sorry, but no outside individuals are allowed to participate in our housing options. This means only students enrolled in our program can book, and no guests are invited to stay with you for any part of your stay. If you have friends or family traveling with you or coming to visit, contact us for recommendations of where to stay.
There is usually no accommodation available before arrival day or after departure day as cleaning crews are scheduled to set up for the next program, so if your travel plans expand beyond the training dates, you will need to look into the hotels nearby for any additional lodging.
Housing cannot be added to a payment plan and must be paid when making reservation.
All Heartwood Housing is first come, first served.

Heartwood House community living room
Heartwood also has some warm-hearted graduates that live nearby who offer rooms in their house for an affordable 25.00 a night. If you wish to get a private bedroom with bath in a home only a few miles from Heartwood, we are happy to connect you to these individuals to see about availability. Better than an Air B & B since we can vouch for the host, these arrangements are often much appreciated by our students. You will need a car for transportation to and from this housing option.
