All RYS-200 programs involve 200 hour of study time and encompass the same competencies as defined by Yoga Alliance, which means the program must focus a predetermined number of hours devoted to anatomy, philosophy, alignment and posture focus, methodology, history etc. For students who live locally, Heartwood offers RYS-200 programs that break up the course of studies over a longer stretch of time than an immersion or intensive, allowing students to balance the commitment of yoga training with other life commitments. Students can continue working, caring for families, and enjoy the process as savored "me time" bringing them closer to their interests and personal dreams. Local programs do not include meals or lodging, so can be a very affordable path to getting yoga certified and for those who feel processing information in smaller bites, where they can practice, journal, and contemplate the teachings between lessons, for a slow and steady learning dynamic, these programs are often powerful.
Heartwood offers two special programs designed for local students to make Yoga Certification possible even for the busiest individual, a daytime program that meets once a week for 6 hours, and an evening program that meets two evenings a week for 3 hours each session. Both programs include one or more weekends where we focus on material that would not be as dynamic broken down into shorter sessions. The weekend units also keep the program progressing and completed within a few months.
Since local students no doubt live a drive-able distance, making it possible attend a program that is not a residency, potential students are invited to set up an appointment to tour Heartwood and meet with the director to learn about the program and discuss their personal goals. Our hope is that a bit of research upfront will help you make a good decision about whether or not Heartwood is the best place for you at this stage of your yoga path.
June 5 August 15th, 2021
Local students continue to request a yoga program they can take over time while keeping up on work and family responsibilities. So we are adding a weekend program this summer. Students will meet Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 am - 6:30 pm for 10 weekends to gain their yoga certification. A small portion of the training (anatomy and history of yoga) is online as per Yoga Alliance new standards). This program offers three options for your adjunct training course (required as part of your 200 hours) . Students can become aerial yoga certified August 21-22, or opt to take chair yoga online or in person in the fall. Combined, this makes 10 weekends of in person training for certification.
We also are offering an option to take the Weekend portion of our Children's Yoga Certification as your elective. This is only one half of the RCYT certification which may be all you need to feel great working with kids, but for those who want the full, formal certification, you can pay the difference of an additional 495.00 and take the remaining of the training if you wish to get both RYT-200 AND earn your YA Children's Certification this summer (Children's certification is normally $995.00).
This tuition does not include a meal plan so students bring a lunch each day (but lunch is provided during Children's training if you choose this option).
We meet Saturday and Sunday June 5, 12 19, July 10, 17, 24, 31, August 7, 14. And aerial training on August 21 or students can choose an alternate elective program. We do not meet on the Weekend of June 26-27 unless you are in the Children's training, nor do we meet the weekend of Jul 3-4 due to the holidays.

Jan. 13 - May 26, 2021
This course is perfect for anyone who longs to study yoga in depth, yet has conflicts with devoting long weekends to the process. The course meets every Wednesday afternoon for 20 weeks, making this format a perfect fit for parents who want to study while their children are in school, or for anyone who finds it easier to devote one day a week (in shorter sessions) to yoga studies rather than longer weekend sessions. Students meet for one elective weekend and can chose between Chair yoga or Aerial Yoga. Students also have an online anatomy course that they can take at their leisure to complete all the requirements for Yoga Alliance. Students bring lunch each day.
Course Fee - 2,800.00
Oct. 19 2021 - March 8, 2022
This course meets each Tuesday from 9:00-3:00 and 4 Saturdays from 9am-5pm. The weekly meeting helps everyone keep their practice progressing and makes it easy to digest the material and the weekends help us complete in a reasonable time frame (for those who travel). We also meet one weekend for Chair Yoga Certification.
Saturday meetings include, Nov. 7, Dec. 5 & Jan. 9, & Feb. 20. We do not meet on Tuesday, Nov. 23 or Dec. 21 or 289 for holiday breaks.
Since there is no food plan with this training, students bring their own lunch each day.
Course Fee: 2,500.00 (AARP discount)
