Keep reading below to learn about our RYS-200 Online program. For those new to yoga training, this is where you begin the journey!
For those who are currently an RYT-200 certified teacher, we offer an advanced RYS-300 program online. Completion makes the student an RYT-500, professional teacher.
As the world moves more and more towards virtual learning, online training for those who can’t join us in person yet still want to study the Heartwood curriculum is the perfect option. Yoga teacher training is our specialty and we have created an RYS- 200 hour comprehensive online yoga teacher training course designed to expand an aspiring yoga teacher's awareness, set a foundation for learning, and covering the basics of yoga teacher training in a comprehensive way to fully prepare aspiring teachers to work with others. Students are provided with prerecorded content that can be self-paced for those elements of study that transfer well online, such as anatomy or the science of meditation and pranayama, along with detailed coursework on posture and alignment, sequencing, chakra and energy studies, pranayama, Sanskrit, business of yoga and more. We also schedule zoom meetings weekly for group discussion, reviewing what we are learning independently, and for the introduction of new material. Students are urged to join us in real time to be a part of the interactive learning collective, but in cases where this is not possible, they can watch the lessons on their own. Each week we assign what portions of the prerecorded content should be watched, as well as readings and exercises to assure everyone stays on course and progressing in a timely way. Our group Facebook page keeps everyone interacting and provides a forum for questions, a place to post exercises to receive feedback from your teachers and mentors and ongoing connection. Students are expected to be participatory in our exercises and communications as this is not a self-paced, independent study option, and attempts to emulate our live trainings as closely as possible.
